Julianne Moore wins Golden Globe for Film About Alzheimer’s

We’re always doing our best to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease (like participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s!) and helping people through the tough times brought on by the affliction, but it’s hard to raise better awareness than a Hollywood feature film.

On Sunday, Julianne Moore won a Golden Globe for Best Actress – Drama for her role in the movie Still Alice, a story about a professor at Columbia who struggles with a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s. The movie is set to be released in theaters on January 16, 2015, and is sure to be seen by millions of Americans who may or may not already be familiar with the disease. The awareness already raised by the Golden Globe award is an awesome boost for the cause, but we can’t wait to see the reaction to the movie when it hits the general population.

We’re planning on seeing it as soon as possible. Will you be checking it out?

  • Everyone at Tennyson Court has been so warm and loving to my father for the last 2 years. You have all made his life happier during his time there. You are all the eyes and hands of the families of your residents when we can not be with them.

  • Thank you for showing us and our mom so much care, love and attention while we were a part of the Tennyson family. You truly made our time with you so enjoyable!
